- You'd like to address mild sagging along the jawline, cheeks, or brow
- You're looking for support and lift without surgery or general anaesthetic
- You prefer a subtle repositioning rather than a dramatic change
- You want a registered doctor to assess whether threads are suitable for your concerns
How the treatment works
A thread lift uses fine, absorbable PDO (polydioxanone) threads that are inserted beneath the skin through small entry points. The threads are positioned to lift and reposition tissue that has begun to descend with age, and they help support that tissue in its new position. Many threads carry small barbs or cones along their length that gently anchor to the surrounding tissue, allowing the doctor to ease the area into a more supported position.
Over the following months the threads are gradually absorbed by the body. As they dissolve, they are designed to stimulate the surrounding tissue, which may support the area beyond the initial repositioning. The degree of lift is moderate by nature — threads provide support rather than removing excess skin, so they are most suitable for mild laxity rather than significant sagging.
Treatment is targeted to the areas you and your doctor agree on, commonly the jawline, cheeks, or brow, with placement planned around how your face is structured. Local anaesthetic is used for comfort during the procedure.
This is a doctor-performed treatment at Sera Aesthetic Clinic, using BPOM-notified products. Suitability is assessed individually; some medical histories or degrees of laxity may mean it is not recommended.
The area is numbed with local anaesthetic before treatment, so the procedure itself is generally well tolerated. You may feel some pulling or tightness as the threads are positioned, and mild tenderness afterwards. Your doctor will explain what to avoid in the first days while the threads settle.

Consultation & assessment
Your doctor reviews your goals and medical history and examines your skin and areas of laxity to confirm whether threads are appropriate.
- 02
Planning the lift
Together you agree the areas to treat, the thread placement, and the realistic degree of support, so the result suits your face.
- 03
Treatment
After local anaesthetic, fine threads are inserted through small entry points and positioned to support the tissue. Most sessions take around 45–60 minutes.

Aftercare guidance
You'll receive detailed aftercare instructions before you leave, with WhatsApp support if you have questions during recovery.
Some swelling, bruising, or tenderness can occur and usually settles within a few days to about a week. Avoid strenuous exercise, facials, and dental work for around two weeks. Travellers should plan a window before flights or events for any swelling to settle.
You'll get specific aftercare guidance before you leave, plus WhatsApp support if you have questions afterwards.
