- You'd like to add volume or definition to areas such as the cheeks, lips, or chin
- You want to soften folds or lines that remain visible at rest
- You prefer a subtle, balanced result that suits your features
- You want a registered doctor to assess which areas are suitable for you
How the treatment works
Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid, a gel-like substance that occurs naturally in the skin and helps tissues hold moisture and structure. When a hyaluronic-acid filler is placed beneath the skin, it adds support in that area. Depending on the goal, this can restore or add volume, refine contour and definition, or soften folds and lines that remain visible when your face is at rest.
The treatment is targeted. Your doctor selects the placement, depth, and amount based on your facial proportions and how you’d like to look, so that the result is balanced rather than overfilled. Commonly treated areas include the cheeks, lips, chin, and the nasolabial folds that run from the nose to the mouth. A fine needle or a blunt-tipped cannula is used, and most products include a local anaesthetic for comfort.
Because hyaluronic-acid filler is gradually broken down by the body over time, the effect is not lasting and softens as the gel is metabolised. Many people choose to return for maintenance. Your doctor will talk through what is realistic for your features and goals.
This is a doctor-performed treatment at Sera Aesthetic Clinic, using BPOM-notified products. Suitability is assessed individually; some medical histories may mean it is not recommended.
The session is comfortable, and most products contain a local anaesthetic to ease the experience. You'll see a change immediately, though some swelling is normal at first and settles over the following days. Your doctor may review the result at follow-up to check it has settled as planned.
