- You'd like to support skin hydration and overall skin quality rather than change facial volume
- You're noticing skin that feels drier or looks less smooth and want a subtle refresh
- You prefer a treatment with little downtime that fits around a trip or busy schedule
- You want a registered doctor to assess whether this approach suits your skin
How the treatment works
Skin booster treatment with Profhilo uses a stabilised form of hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in skin and helps it hold water. Rather than being placed in one spot to add volume, the product is delivered through a small number of microinjections at set points across an area such as the face or neck. From these points it is designed to spread through the surrounding skin.
Once in place, the hyaluronic acid attracts and binds water within the tissue. This is intended to support skin hydration and overall skin quality, which is why a skin booster is approached differently from a dermal filler. A filler is used to restore or enhance volume in a specific feature; a skin booster targets the condition and feel of the skin more broadly, without reshaping contours.
Because the effect develops as the product integrates, results are gradual rather than immediate, and a short course of sessions is often planned. The effect is not permanent, so maintenance sessions may be discussed over time.
This is a doctor-performed treatment at Sera Aesthetic Clinic, using BPOM-notified products. Suitability is assessed individually; some medical histories may mean it is not recommended.
The session is brief and generally well tolerated. You may notice small raised bumps at the injection points that typically settle within a day, along with possible mild redness. Results develop gradually, and your doctor may recommend a short course of sessions for the intended effect.

Consultation & skin assessment
Your doctor reviews your goals and medical history and examines your skin's hydration, texture, and the areas you'd like to address.
- 02
Planning the treatment
Together you agree which areas to treat and how many sessions may suit you, and your doctor explains how this differs from a volumising filler.
- 03
Treatment
A small number of microinjections place the hyaluronic acid at set points so it can spread across the area. Most sessions take around 20–30 minutes.

Aftercare guidance
You'll receive simple aftercare instructions before you leave, with WhatsApp support if you have questions between sessions.
Little to no downtime. Small bumps at injection points usually settle within about 24 hours; mild redness or tenderness is short-lived. Many people return to normal activities the same day.
You'll get specific aftercare guidance before you leave, plus WhatsApp support if you have questions afterwards.
“Because the product needs time to integrate, I assess skin response between sessions rather than expecting a change on the day of treatment.”
