Microneedling with PRP

Combines controlled microneedling with platelet-rich plasma drawn from your own blood, performed by a registered doctor.

Refined, smooth skin surface
01Who it's for
  • You'd like to address uneven skin texture, enlarged-looking pores, or a dull complexion
  • You're interested in supporting the appearance of fine lines and early signs of ageing
  • You'd like a treatment that uses a sample of your own blood rather than synthetic fillers
  • You want a registered doctor to assess whether your skin and medical history are suitable

How the treatment works

Microneedling with PRP combines two steps. First, a small sample of your own blood is taken, similar to a routine blood test, and processed to separate the platelet-rich plasma — the portion of blood concentrated with platelets and their natural growth factors.

The microneedling step uses a device with fine needles to create controlled micro-channels in the surface of the skin. These tiny, superficial channels are designed to prompt the skin’s natural repair response, which over time may support smoother texture and overall skin quality. The platelet-rich plasma is applied during and after needling, allowing it to reach the treated area through these channels.

Together, the two steps are intended to target concerns such as uneven texture, the appearance of pores, and early signs of ageing. Because PRP is prepared from your own blood, it contains no synthetic filler, and results develop gradually as the skin responds. Outcomes vary between individuals, and a short course of sessions is often planned rather than relying on a single visit.

This is a doctor-performed treatment at Sera Aesthetic Clinic, using BPOM-notified products. Suitability is assessed individually, and some skin conditions or medical histories may mean it is not recommended.

02What to expect

A topical numbing cream is usually applied first, and the blood draw is similar to a routine blood test. During microneedling you may feel light pressure or a prickling sensation. Mild redness and a warm, flushed feeling afterwards are common and settle over the following day or two.

03Your session, step by step
  1. 01

    Consultation & assessment

Your doctor reviews your goals, skin condition, and medical history to confirm the treatment is appropriate for you.

  2. 02

    Planning the treatment

Together you agree on the areas to treat and the approach, and your doctor explains the blood draw and PRP preparation.

  3. 03

    Treatment

A small blood sample is taken and processed to separate the platelet-rich plasma, which is applied alongside controlled microneedling across the treated area.

  4. 04

    Aftercare guidance

You'll receive simple aftercare instructions before you leave, with WhatsApp support if you have questions.

04Recovery & aftercare

Expect redness similar to mild sunburn for around 24–48 hours, occasionally with light flaking. Most people resume normal activities the next day; if you're treating before an event, allow a few days for skin to settle.

You'll get specific aftercare guidance before you leave, plus WhatsApp support if you have questions afterwards.

“Because PRP is prepared from your own blood, results vary between individuals, and we plan a realistic course of sessions rather than expecting change after one visit.”

05Frequently asked questions
What is PRP and where does it come from?
PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is prepared from a small sample of your own blood taken on the day. The sample is processed to concentrate the platelets, which are then used during microneedling. Because it is blood-derived, the treatment is doctor-performed and suitability is assessed individually.
Does it help with hair regrowth?
This treatment focuses on skin texture and quality rather than hair. PRP is sometimes discussed in other contexts, but no hair-regrowth outcome is promised here. Your doctor will explain what the treatment is designed to address and whether it suits your goals at consultation.
Is there much downtime before a holiday?
Redness similar to mild sunburn is common for about 24–48 hours, sometimes with light flaking. Most people return to normal activities the next day. If you're treating before an event, your doctor can advise on timing so your skin has time to settle.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies between individuals and depends on your skin and goals. Many people have a short course of sessions spaced a few weeks apart, with maintenance afterwards. Your doctor will discuss a realistic plan and expectations for you at consultation.
